Pick of the Week: Beat Out That Rhythm on a Drum

MICHELLE: I’m intrigued by The Seaside Where Dragon Boys Dwell and The Magical Forest of Hoshigahara, but I can’t not pick Skip Beat! when given the opportunity!

ASH: Right?? There are so many great debuts and ongoing series this week. For my part, I can’t pass up cat manga from Garo and Yamada Murasaki, so Sassy Cats is my pick!

ANNA: There’s a lot of intriguing new titles coming out this week but I have to say that I’m going to have to go with the newest volume of Skip Beat!.

SEAN: I’m mostly on the light novel train right now, with choices like I’m Running for Crown Princess, but All I Want is a Steady Paycheck! or Déjà Vute: Betrayal Begets New Beginnings. But for manga? Sure, let’s go with Skip Beat!.

KATE: Two weeks, two Gou Tanabe picks? Hell yes! I’m looking forward to reading his adaptation of The Dunwich Horror, which arrives in stores this week. And just to prove I’m not on the Dark Horse payroll, I’m throwing in a second recommendation: Yamada Murasaki’s Sassy Cats. I don’t know if it will be as heartbreaking as Talk to My Back, but I’m guessing I may need a few Kleenex on hand. (I’m a certified Animal Sap™.)
