Discussion, Resources, Roundtables, & Reviews

Manga Bookshelf Comment Policy

Manga Bookshelf is dedicated to maintaining civil discourse in its comment threads. Dissent is always encouraged, and while we recognize that discussion may sometimes become heated, the following types of behavior will not be tolerated:

  • Personal insults and name-calling
  • Harassment or intimidation of Manga Bookshelf’s writers or readers on the basis of race, gender, gender identity, religion, disability, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
  • Persistent use of racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, ableist, or other pejorative language after being called out on it by Manga Bookshelf readers or contributors. We understand that many essentially derogatory phrases have become so much a part of the common vernacular that usage as such may be entirely unintentional. However, the correct thing to do when you have unintentionally used an offensive word or phrase, is to listen, apologize, and put forth sincere effort to refrain from repeated offense. Do this. We will, too.
  • Any behavior that may be identified as “trolling” by Manga Bookshelf administrators, including (but not limited to) persistently hostile or snide remarks with little or no constructive value, organized group attacks against any blogger or commenter on the site, and repeated baiting of others with the intent to provoke an emotional response.

Violation of this policy may result in warnings, deletion, and/or banning without notice.
