Seeking script advice from artists

I’d like to take a moment to seek out some advice from comics artists who work with writers. I know there are at least a couple of you who read this blog regularly, and perhaps you can pass the question on to others.

What I’m curious about are your preferences when it comes to scripts. I know that there is no industry standard for the way a comic script should be written, and I’ve seen examples of what several different writers do. What I never seem to read about is how artists feel about that. I have my own script style emerging, but since I’m not yet certain who I’m collaborating with, this isn’t a question I can ask of that unknown person* just yet.

So, artists, what do you like best? Do you prefer detailed descriptions of each panel on the page, telling you exactly what to draw and from what angle? Do you prefer just to be told what’s going on and what’s being said, with the rest left up to you? Something in between? I expect the answers to this have a lot to do with specific circumstances and your relationship with the writer, and I’d like to hear about that if you feel like talking. I’d also like to know what kind of scenario you’d prefer over all. What would be your ideal collaboration?
