I've liked the heroine a *little* more in the second volume, so I'm withholding judgement until I'm at least 5 vols in. :D

Here's a tip for readers of Sarasah: Ignore the heroine, read it for the men. Ji-Hae is one of the most annoying, worthless heroines I've ever seen. But the male characters in this title are genuinely interesting, as is the setting, and all the political intrigue. Not a fan of the initial premise, because I'd really like to slap her around a bit, but everything else is quite interesting.

I just finished it and was put off plenty, but I can also see the potential for her to lose some of that obnoxiousness. I'm afraid, though, that it'll just be wacky gender-bendy "gotta keep my secret" hijinks.

I am also interested to see what I will think! :) Heh, yes, I can completely relate to your reaction. What helped me tolerate Ji-Hae, I think, is that I didn't get the impression that the author likes her (or Seung-Hyu, for that matter) any better than I do at this point. I think if I'd felt there was some kind of authorial implication that she was a-ok, I'd have been put off much more.

I can't say I disagree with what you've said -- I was reading Sarasah in Yen Plus until it was pulled in the last month or so. I'm put off and, yet, simultaneously intrigued by Ji-Hae and her nuttiness. I'll be interested to see what you think of the coming developments, both character- and story-wise.
