Feel free to spew your thoughts here anytime! :D I think part of the reason I'm so harsh on Nana and Ren here, is that I've come to a place in my own life where I've realized how important it is for me to identify and do away with unhealthy relationships, so it makes me even more sensitive to them when I read. It's arrogant of me to think that I know better somehow, though. Still, it's hard to watch them when they're both acting so obviously out of fear.

I'm sure you're right where Ai Yazawa got the idea for the death pact, and I'm sure she meant for it to be where Ren and Nana got the idea too!

Thank you for stopping by to comment!

>Is there anyone at this point who doesn’t think that both Nana and Ren would be a lot better off without each other?

Yes, hello there. Well, maybe. You just made me realize that it never really occurred to me that they should break up. Now I'm wondering why I accept Nana and Ren so unthinkingly. After all, their relationship is hardly what you'd consider normal. It seems like they're always either too busy or proud to see each other or they're being unhealthily possessive like with what Ren said to Reira. But then I guess I do like that they have chemistry and magnetism that keeps pulling them back together even if it is probably for the worse.

Anyway, sorry for spewing random thoughts all over your blog. I just feel like I have to re-evaluate my opinion of these two now. Also, I recently started reading about the Sex Pistols because of Nana. I'm guessing that Ai Yazawa got the idea for Nana and Ren's death pact from Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen...?
